We have a choice

The more I consider society and all that goes into making a society, the more I believe that a majority of us, unknowingly pick our destiny. We are not born into a pre-destined life, but each action – evil or good, paves a pathway. Therefore I think we are embodied with free-will.

If someone repeatedly completes a vicious action, in the end, they will be a "rotten" person. But since they completed these action with free-will, they are morally responsible. After all, we are taught from a young age upward that morals are above anything else.

It is instilled in us from TV shows, games, teaching lessons and many other experiences as a child. Obvious things like, “be nice” or, “don’t hurt other people.” In the larger picture, we are also taught things like don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t lie. We don’t realize at the time, but we are building up a profile of a good person in society and a bad person in society. We are taught to obey the law, respect your neighbor and keep the peace. Those who rebel against these standards are not valuable member of society. This does not make them bad people though, just means they’ve completed a series of bad choices, available to them in their free will.

These actions are not ALL bad, for they do hold up high moral expectations, so that the world does not turn inherently evil without any standards. These morals are the foundations of society, the building blocks of it.

I believe as society evolves, we become more accepting and the openness to morality expands, allowing for bigger ideas. After all, people that are all seeking happiness should not turn down happiness that comes from innocent foundations.
