The process of reflecting
It takes a strong person to embody the ability to reflect on the day that has passed. Reflecting on the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful.
Let's face it - no one never really knows the day before us when we wake up each morning. We could have a great day that fills us with pure happiness and hope, or a terrible day that feels as though it can tear any bit of hope away.
External forces that we encounter throughout the day can be something that we have absolutely no control over. But there is one very important thing we will ALWAYS have power over - and that is our attitude. Our thoughts at the end of the day will mirror our attitude and the level of kindness, positivity and integrity we put into our encounters.
I value myself for this. In the past, my overthinking used to trouble me and I swore it was my biggest downfall as a person. I would scramble my thoughts - replaying every possible minute of the day in a negative light. Now, I love reflecting and how much it connects me to myself. I should not lose hope in the process; I should put faith in it.
